Some Random Thoughts

Silence broken. By me. I was reminded that it is a two way street.

In other news while traveling to LA for work this week I had time to kill between a meeting and a dinner I had to attend. I went to see No Strings Attached. While the ending is a total cliche I couldn't help but love this line:

That is a terrible self destructive plan and we are behind you 100%.

As I have talked about ad nauseum 99% of the time I am content being alone. Then there are times that I hate it. For instance, waking up alone on Christmas? Not fun. The prospect of waking up alone on my 30th? I could do without. But I read this article and was reminded once again why being single is great.

I do not need anyone in my life to complete me. I make my life whole.
The LA trip also meant that I finished my first book of 2011. Since I am turning 30 this year I am setting a goal to read 30 books.

The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium, #2)The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Excellent book. Much more engaging than the first in the series. I am excited to read the third.

  1. I love that goal! And I am so glad you love your singledom. I loved mine too and think every woman (and man) needs a period in their life where they DO love that too and embrace it for all it's worth. I am so glad I've had the last two years to explore ME by myself. It makes finding love that much sweeter because I am more grounded in what I want, what I won't compromise and what I want balance to look like.

  3. I wish I could enjoy being single and embrace it like you do, but for what it's worth, I think you are 100% right about the value of making yourself happy first. I am hoping that I never again try to complete myself with a man, but instead see it as a complement to my life rather than the WHOLE life. I hope for that for you when you are ready and want it.

  4. I really need to embrace that Dragon Tattoo series. I've been holding off but have to just do it.
