Oh the Books I Have Read

The Lovely BonesThe Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This book started out so strong and then just drug on and on. I'm not sure why it was made into a movie. I only finished it out of sheer determination and boredom on a plane.

Last Night at Chateau MarmontLast Night at Chateau Marmont by Lauren Weisberger

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A little slow to get into and the author is always going to live in the shadow of Devil but...very much a cautionary tale of careful what you wish for.

  1. Try Alice Sebold's Lucky. It's a non-fiction work about when she was raped in college and it is profound. I've never understood why Lovely Bones got all the attention.

And for the love of puppies, get Jonathan Tropper's This Is Where I Leave You. A.mazing.

  2. I do really want to read the Chateau Marmont book, I've heard really good things. I started reading Lovely Bones but just couldn't bring myself to finish it.
