I DON'T KNOW

Dear MS2BX,

I don't know when we go to court. I promise you that when I do know you will be the first person I tell. Texting me, calling me, texting again....let me repeat.

I DO NOT KNOW WHEN IT IS.

You know what I know.

You will know when I know.

My lawyer will know when the judge tells him, he will tell me, I will tell you. But right now...

I DON'T KNOW.

Sincerely,

StartingOver@28

  1. Hey there - do you know your court date?

    HA! ;)

  2. I really really dislike him. As soon as you get your divorce, block his number! And you'll never have to deal with him ever again.

  3. I hope once this is over you don't have anything else to do with him. He sounds like a total d-bag.

  4. Hi!

I came across your blog by following a link from someone else's. I am a 27 year old woman who went through something quite similar in my own marriage a while ago. I started a blog, which has been tremendously helpful to me in learning to move on. I read yours from start to finish, and recognized a good many things from my own divorce (due to ex's repeated cheating -- you can read that post here: searchingforblacklove.blogspot.com/2008/08/what-do-these-winds-mean.html). It is good, solid advice to block his number (though my cellphone company wouldn't let me do that, I had to change numbers and keep the new number from him), delete all emails, filter your account, etc. Of course, as you know, it doesn't fix it, but it gives you room to breathe, to move on.

Oh, and as for your dating query. No, you probably aren't ready to move on, but trying this now is part of how you get there, at least from my experience. The man I dated directly after leaving my ex is still a friend, and is a good man, but I was not ready. There have been others. But the man I am with now, after all of this time? Is a keeper. If you read through the blog, you can see my own progression through some stages that might be helpful to you. Of course, we are different people -- namely, I am Black, and I blog a lot about issues of race, class, representation, gender, and sexuality. But still, I think you can find something that may be useful. I'll keep checking in, and I wish you the best of luck!

    M
