What Would You Do?

I'm 29 and knocking on 30's door.

The boy asking for the date isn't quite 24.

I finished my undergrad 8 years ago.
I finished my masters 5 years ago.

He's in his last semester of undergrad.

I've been married and divorced.
Bought and sold one house.
Bought and unfortunately unable to sell another.

He's done none of these things.

Is age enough of a reason to say no? Or do I go because there really isn't another reason not too?

  1. Hi, I recently started to read your blog... it took me a couple of days to go through all your posts. I found it weirdly enough when I made a google search for a project management class I am taking.
Anyways, we're the same age and my ex husband decided to leave me right about the same time as yours decided to leave you. It's funny, everything you have written, I felt, at the same time but in a different part of the country.
So, what would I do? I would go on a date. If you are interested enough to consider a date, you should go. It's just a date!

  2. @Popnea - a project management search? Hilarious! I'm sorry for you what you are going through/have been through. Its not fun. But, as I have learned, there is life on the other side!

So far I am leaning towards giving it a shot. We will see!

  3. The first person I started dating when I got divorced at 29 was a 24 year old. And while it wasn't meant to be, and age did eventually make a difference, it was the perfect way to get back into the dating scene, it became a really good relationship, and it was some of the best sex I ever had. If you want to go, you should go.

  6. I've been following your blog for a while now but it hits home even more now. I'm 29, just out of a relationship with someone that I was with for 1.5 years. I know it's not a long time but I lived with him and his two kids; basically a step mom. Thanks for being inspiring and making me think that everything will be okay. Confusing, but okay.
