Defining Random

I am pretty sure that if you looked up the definition of random in the dictionary you would find my picture.

Let's look at some recent concerts I have attended as I have been to 10 so far this year.

In April I went to AC/DC.

Last week I went to the 50 Cent concert.

Last night I went to Jewel.

Does it get any more random than that?

Ridiculous

I had an amazing time at AC/DC.

Then I return home and my yard is partially cut. Partially. Like a couple laps around the front yard.

You see my fabulous ex-husband has been too busy or "ill" to take care of his one responsibility. So he hires an irresponsible high school kid to do it who quit part way through.

Why do things like this surprise me? Why am I shocked that he can't handle one freaking thing?

I am not interested in your pathetic excuses. Its dumb.

I just want the house to sell.

200th Post

I wish for my 200th post I had something more relevant to blog about. Something compelling. Some big announcement or progress in the starting over journey.

But really, 200 isn't anything more than 199 or 135.

Its a milestone sure.

You have stuck with me As I have stuck to documenting the ups and downs. Much like a toddler I am slowly learning to walk again or to navigate single land. And I am finding I kind of like it. I like not having to worry about finding out whether or not someone else wants to do what I do, or where they want to eat or the movie they want to see. Its nice to be able to do what I want, when I want.

So this is another post. Like the others; about me, my life and moving forward...

I think I have established my total disdain for Friday's. Tonight was much like the rest of them.

I tanned. I ran 2.1 miles and shaved more time off. Mile 1 was 19 seconds faster at 12:22 and mile 2 was done in 13:20. So I am getting there. Slowly but surely I am getting there.

And then I started cleaning. Followed by more cleaning. Who knew you could work up a sweat just by mopping your hard woods?

Now its time for rest. In bed before 10 and up at 5:45 a.m. tomorrow. I am off to host the Kids in the Kitchen event for Junior League before making the trek north for the AC/DC concert.

Black Eyed Peas

I should have made attending a lot of concerts in 2010 a goal. I would be at rock star status by now and its only March.

If you get the chance to see Black Eyed Peas - do it. Don't question. Just pay the money and go.

Such a fun show.

So much energy.

Its two days later and my legs are still sore from dancing.

It doesn't hurt that its B's favorite...and that he was ridiculously jealous the entire time.

Never Thought I'd Want to be 30

Last night I went with my fabulous friend AMS to dinner at Bristol and then we were off to watch a little bull riding.

So fun. I had a blast. I am not sure if it were more fun watching the bull riding or AMS expressions.

Afterwards there was a free concert with Gretchen Wilson.

I think by now you realize I kinda like concerts.

So we decided to have a drink and watch the concert.

When we were turned away.

Because we were under 30 and they didn't have time to check IDs.

Seriously.

Oh well, we promptly returned to the lodge to drink cold beer and listen to another free concert. The one from my iTouch.

Random Musings

Its a good thing I am single. And to my 2 male readers...you may want to skip this one!

Tonight I am sitting in bed watching soaps with white toothpaste on a zit. Feeling one step closer to cat lady.

Last week I found my first gray, actually white hair.

Where did that come from? I am only a few short days from 29. Not 79. Oh...maybe the 3 great aunts who were all completely white before 30? Genetics are a bitch.

Speaking of 29...for the first time in years I am actually acknowledging my birthday. I am actually participating in a group party. Quite the change from how I spent my birthday last year. Reading back over this I notice that I fail to mention he moved out on my birthday. More than likely I was trying to subconsciously protect him, even then.

Lastly, a reader request from Just One Week. You can read about my 2010 vision here and here.

3 more days until Rascal Flatts & Darius Rucker, 4 more days until Vegas and 10 more days until I am back home for the weekend.

Mind Racing

Me. Always wanted to ask me a question but not wanted to let me know who it was that asked? Go here and see what I say.

Working Out. Still loving my treadmill. Even last night when I didn't sleep well. I got up this a.m. and did a run/walk combo. Monday starts training. Training again for a 5k. Starting over.

Why do I always feel like I am starting over?

Boys. And B. So much there. Why can we talk about everything, absolutely everything, except for that one topic?

I think about you all the time.

I love talking to you.

I have lots of feelings for you.

Don't think like that.

Are you just there enough to keep me from moving on?

Concerts. In the last 2 days I have got tickets to Tim McGraw with Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts with my favorite Darius Rucker and Black Eyed Peas. I am currently on the prowl for tickets to the one and only Garth Brooks. Oh and if I can get reasonable Eric Clapton tickets I am in for that too. Oh and John Mayer? Sign me up.

I may have a problem. Apparently I need a part time job to support my concert habit.

The Night I Almost Met Darius Rucker

The trip to Miami was amazing.

The sound of the ocean is soothing for the soul...

Monday was filled with conference sessions and an amazing key note speaker Ron Jaworski. He told tales of his career in the NFL and his experiences on Monday Night Football. A very engaging speaker even if you aren't the worlds biggest sports fan.

Monday night we had a yacht cruise with a poker tournament...and I got second! With a little group effort. But the best part? I won an iTouch! I have wanted an iPhone forever but since my work pays for my phone and I am well...cheap/frugal I thought I would never have one.

But this is the next best thing and so cool! I love it.

Tuesday was slam packed with meetings but then I got the news that I was hoping for...

I was going to meet Darius Rucker at a private meet and greet before our private concert at Mansion.

I was like a kid at Christmas. Excited would be an understatement.

We went for dinner at Sushi Samba but I couldn't really eat. I was too excited.

We were due to be there at 7:30.

The club was only a few blocks away.

7:30 came. 7:30 went. The others at dinner who would also meet him said it wouldn't start on time. We would be fine.

We got there at 8. It was over.

I was crushed. So sad.

But I was front row.

I got 2 guitar pics.

2 fist pumps.

I love him. He puts on such a good show!
